About NIKITA GREENTECH RECYCLING: business, products and customers

Nikita Greentech Recycling turns waste paper into brown kraft paper that box makers use for corrugated cartons and paper bags, at its mill in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. Its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

Nikita Greentech Recycling, called Nikita Papers until FY26, runs one mill at Shamli in Uttar Pradesh with two paper machines and an installed capacity of about 1,33,000 tonnes a year, making kraft paper from 80 to 200 GSM out of waste paper collected in India and imported from the US and Canada. Most output is corrugation grade sold through distributors to box makers, and specialty grades such as food grade and carry bag paper were about a tenth of volume, per the June 2025 call. The mill burns refuse derived fuel made from city waste in its own power plant and earns extended producer responsibility credits for doing so.

Kraft paper is a commodity: waste paper is 65% to 70% of cost of sales and the selling price follows the market, so in FY26 a small fall in price per tonne cut profit in half even though tonnes sold rose. Corrugation buyers pay late because money flows back from brands through box makers, so receivables stood at 122 days at March 2026, and the company also carried large loans and advances given to others. Other income, mostly interest and a state SGST subsidy whose scheme ended in December 2025, made up nearly all of FY26 profit before tax.

Read more about the business

The 2025 IPO raised ₹67.5 cr, ₹50 cr of it for a 9 MW waste to energy power plant that Infomerics expects to run from October 2026. In July 2026 the company shut Paper Machine I, which made 37.50% of FY26 turnover, to rebuild it and lift plant capacity from 400 to 550 tonnes a day, with restart expected by October 2026; Infomerics says the rebuilt unit will make absorbent paper. The FY26 annual report also notes an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh government for the power and paper machine projects worth about ₹107.5 cr, and empanelment by Indraprastha Gas as a partner for compressed biogas plants.

On the June 2025 call Ayush Bansal named Genus Paper among competitors in corrugation grades and pointed to mill clusters in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut. The FY26 annual report adds low priced imports from China and ASEAN countries as a source of pressure on prices.

From the FY26 and FY25 annual reports, the June 2025 investor presentation and earnings call, the Infomerics rating notes of June and September 2026, and the company's NSE announcements of July and August 2026.

  • The promoters own a large part of the company: 60.14%.

To watch

  • Restart of the rebuilt Paper Machine I at 550 tonnes a day and start of the 9 MW power plant, both expected by October 2026 (NSE announcements, 9 July 2026, p.1 to p.2; Infomerics rating note, 8 September 2026, p.4).
  • Loans given out: ₹74.7 cr of loans and advances at March 2026, including ₹16.7 cr with related party Shamli Steels Private Limited, from which the company received ₹2.2 cr of interest in FY26 (Annual report FY26, p.131, p.158 and p.159).
  • Approval at the September 2026 AGM to borrow up to ₹70 cr from the four promoter directors, with an option to convert the loans into shares (Annual report FY26, p.36 to p.37; NSE announcement, 30 September 2026).
  • Audit and records: secretarial auditors resigned in June and August 2025 and the internal auditor in May 2026; bank stock statements were filed on an estimated basis; a GST demand of ₹0.93 cr is under litigation (Annual report FY26, p.70 to p.71, p.131 and p.154).
  • It paid no dividend in the past year.

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. Its loans are now larger than its own money. Last year the business brought in more cash than it showed as profit. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take about as long to pay as they did in FY24.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Nikita earns a thin spread between the price of kraft paper and the cost of waste paper and power, from one large mill.

Its weak spots are prices set by the market and imports, slow payments from buyers, money lent out to others and a rating on negative watch.

WatchCan it set its own prices? No. The price per tonne fell last year as imports pressed on the market, and profit fell with it.
The evidence. Realisation fell from ₹31,369 to ₹30,594 a tonne in FY26 while volume rose; Infomerics says intense competition leaves kraft paper makers limited pricing flexibility.Infomerics rating note, 8 September 2026, p.5
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? It is one of many mills in a crowded trade, though its own waste fuelled power gives a cost edge.
The evidence. The annual report cites low priced imports from China and ASEAN countries and organised and regional competitors; on the June 2025 call the company named Genus Paper and mill clusters in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut.Annual report FY26, p.106 and p.110; Earnings call, June 2025, p.16 to p.17
AverageWho are its customers?Distributors and box makers spread over several north Indian states, many of them long standing, but they pay slowly.
The evidence. Infomerics says key clients have been with the company for more than two decades across six states; the call says corrugation buyers pay only after brands pay the box makers.Infomerics rating note, 8 September 2026, p.4; Earnings call, June 2025, p.15
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Yes. Stock and buyers' dues tie up money, new projects are large, and the company has lent out sizeable sums.
The evidence. Gross current assets were 336 days at March 2026; total debt was ₹237.2 cr; the power and paper machine projects are about ₹107.5 cr; loans and advances in the nature of loans were ₹74.7 cr.Infomerics rating note, 8 September 2026, p.5 and p.7; Annual report FY26, p.8 and p.131
AverageCan it keep finding new work?Demand for packaging paper is steady and a larger machine is on the way, but sales are not backed by an order book.
The evidence. Capacity is set to rise from 400 to 550 tonnes a day with absorbent paper on the rebuilt machine; the company was empanelled by Indraprastha Gas for compressed biogas plants.Annual report FY26, p.8 and p.77; Infomerics rating note, 8 September 2026, p.4
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Yes. A small dip in sales last year halved profit, and margins move with paper and waste paper prices.
The evidence. Profit after tax fell from ₹23.0 cr to ₹11.1 cr in FY26 while operating profit margin fell from 13.49% to 9.86%; Infomerics notes waste paper price swings have hit margins in the past.Annual report FY26, p.57 and p.110; Infomerics rating note, 8 September 2026, p.5
