About Meta Infotech: business, products and customers

Meta Infotech resells cybersecurity software made by global companies to banks and other large firms in India, and supplies the engineers who set it up and keep it running. Its shares trade on BSE SME.

Meta Infotech was founded in Mumbai in 1998 and moved into cybersecurity from 2010. It is an authorised reseller for security makers such as Zscaler, Netskope, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, Imperva, Proofpoint and Rubrik, and adds its own services: installing the tools, placing engineers at client sites to run them, managed monitoring, maintenance and training. It works from Mumbai, Thane and Hyderabad, has started in Delhi, had 309 employees in March 2026 and runs its own training centre for new engineers. The shares listed on BSE SME on 11 July 2025.

The way it works shapes the numbers. Most revenue is licences bought from the software makers and passed on to clients at a thin margin, so one large deal can lift revenue a great deal while adding little profit; services were about an eighth of FY26 revenue but about three quarters of segment profit. Many licences are priced in dollars: when the rupee weakened during a dollar-priced order the company took an exchange loss, and it now prices new contracts at the market rate plus a margin. Big renewals fall early in the financial year, so the first half usually carries most of the year's revenue and profit.

Read more about the business

Its clients are mainly banks: banking made up 93% of the order book in May 2026, and the chairman said on the June 2026 call that one bank gave about half of FY26 revenue through a very large, low-margin licence order. It also places teams of engineers at banks such as HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and IDFC, and does service work in Dubai for a company of the promoter group.

The offer document compared Meta Infotech with three listed Indian cybersecurity companies: TAC Infosec, Sattrix Information Security and Quick Heal Technologies. Its table shows TAC Infosec with an EBITDA margin of about half its revenue in FY25, against about a tenth for Meta Infotech, whose revenue is mostly resale of other makers' software.

From the 2025 red herring prospectus, the FY25 annual report, the June 2026 investor presentation and earnings call, and the exchange filing of 1 October 2026. The FY26 annual report was available only as a summary and was not used.

Exceptional and other items: profit before tax beyond operating profit, other income, interest and depreciation, such as one-off items or a share of associates' profit, as reported.

A tax rate above 60% or below zero (FY20) comes from tax charged on a small or negative profit, as reported.

Earnings per share before FY25 is on the share count of that time, before later bonus or share issues, so it does not compare with the years after.

Meta Infotech debt and cash flow

Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capital

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. It cut its borrowings last year. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Meta Infotech earns little on the software it resells and much more on its own engineers' services, so its profit depends on how much service work it wins.

Its weak spots are its reliance on one large bank and on software makers who decide which partners may offer their products.

WatchCan it set its own prices? Not on licences, which carry thin, maker-set margins; services pay better but face competition.
The evidence. Services were 13% of FY26 revenue but about 75% of segment profit; the chairman said the large bank order cut the profit margin sharply.Investor presentation, June 2026, p.11; earnings call, 3 June 2026, p.10
AverageHow strong is it against rivals?Long bank relationships and partner status with many makers help, but a maker changing hands can cut its business.
The evidence. Imperva billing fell to ₹2 cr from about ₹8.5 cr after Imperva was sold to Thales; it holds partner awards from Zscaler and Imperva.Earnings call, 3 June 2026, p.9; offer document, p.125
WatchWho are its customers?Large banks that pay reliably, but one bank gives about half of revenue.
The evidence. The largest customer gave 62.76% of FY25 revenue and the top ten 84.65%; banking is 93% of the order book.Offer document, p.127; investor presentation, June 2026, p.20
WatchDoes it need a lot of money? It needs few fixed assets, but money owed by clients and licence stock grew fast in FY26.
The evidence. Trade receivables rose to ₹56.3 cr from ₹22.3 cr and inventories to ₹21.8 cr from ₹4.7 cr; borrowings are low.Investor presentation, June 2026, p.26
StrongCan it keep finding new work?Yes. The order book covers almost two years of revenue and new orders keep coming.
The evidence. Order book of ₹506.0 cr on 27 May 2026; 18 new clients in FY26; orders of ₹7.8 cr filed on 1 October 2026.Investor presentation, June 2026, p.20 and p.24; exchange filing, 1 October 2026, p.1
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Profit swings with big deals, the timing of renewals and the rupee.
The evidence. April to June gave 58.32% of FY25 revenue; second-half FY26 profit was ₹0.4 cr against ₹3.1 cr a year earlier.Offer document, p.234; investor presentation, June 2026, p.25
