About Optivalue Tek Consulting: business, products and customers

Optivalue Tek Consulting does software and IT consulting work, mostly for larger IT firms that fit it into projects for telecom, banking and other clients. It has lately started supplying defence technology equipment and drones, and its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

Optivalue Tek Consulting was set up in Delhi in 2011 and began by running and setting up operations and billing software for telecom companies. Today it connects business software systems, manages links between applications, and builds banking, cloud and data tools. Most of its work is sold to system integrators, larger IT firms that use it inside projects for their own clients, and in FY25 these clients gave ₹38.8 cr of ₹56.1 cr revenue, all billed on time and material.

Its registered office is in Connaught Place, New Delhi, with branches in Bengaluru and Gurugram, and most of its people work from home or at client sites. At March 2025 it had 70 people on its payroll and about 82 more on contract. Almost all its revenue comes from India, with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu the largest states in FY25.

Read more about the business

What is new: revenue rose to ₹90.7 cr in FY26, and the second half brought about twice the sales of the first. In March 2026 it won a pilot order from Bharat Electronics, a defence public sector company, for sensor and radio detection equipment, and in July 2026 the board proposed adding defence drones and counter drone systems to the company's objects. In September 2026 it announced orders of ₹20.7 cr for nano drones and ₹16.3 cr for IRCTC website modernisation, and on 5 October 2026 said the website order's scope had grown, lifting its value to ₹64.0 cr including GST over about twelve months.

Exchange filings of 9 October 2026 record that Keshavamurthy Rajendra resigned as an independent director with effect from 8 October 2026; only the subject line of that filing is among the documents read.

From the red herring prospectus (August 2025), the FY26 annual report, the FY26 results filing and the company's exchange announcements of March, September and October 2026.

Optivalue Tek Consulting debt and cash flow

Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capital

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Optivalue Tek Consulting earns its money by supplying IT people and project work, mostly through larger IT firms, and it is now adding drones and defence equipment to that.

Its weak spots are thin protection against rivals, a lot of money waiting to be billed or collected, and an auditor who could not confirm some of the latest year's revenue and balances.

WatchCan it set its own prices? The company says price usually decides who wins the work, and it blamed a competitive market for its lower profit margin in the latest year.
The evidence. The prospectus says reliability and competitive pricing decide most client choices. The FY26 ratio notes say the net profit margin went down because of a competitive market.Red herring prospectus, p.136; Annual Report 2025-26, p.74
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? It competes with many organised and small players, and its name and logo are not registered trademarks.
The evidence. The prospectus says some rivals have greater resources, that the corporate name and logo are not registered, and that there are no collaboration agreements.Red herring prospectus, p.135 and p.136
AverageWho are its customers? Most work goes to system integrators on work orders rather than long contracts, though the reliance on the top few clients has come down.
The evidence. Top five customers gave 45.61% of FY25 revenue against 81.59% in FY24, and system integrator clients gave ₹38.8 cr of ₹56.1 cr. No long term contracts are in place.Red herring prospectus, p.28 and p.137
WatchDoes it need a lot of money? It needs little spending on equipment, but a large and growing amount is tied up in work done and not yet paid for.
The evidence. Trade receivables of ₹59.9 cr at March 2026 against ₹17.2 cr a year earlier, including ₹14.0 cr of revenue booked provisionally before invoicing, which the auditor could not verify.FY26 results filing, May 2026, p.4, p.9 and p.10
AverageCan it keep finding new work?It has won new kinds of work since listing, from website work for IRCTC to drones and a defence pilot, but it has no order book and sells job by job.
The evidence. A ₹20.7 cr drone order in September 2026, a website order raised from ₹16.3 cr to about ₹64.0 cr in October 2026, a pilot order from Bharat Electronics in March 2026, and a proposal to add defence drones to the company's objects.Exchange announcements, 10 Sep 2026, p.1; Press release, 26 Mar 2026, p.1; Annual Report 2025-26, p.12 and p.14; Exchange announcement, 5 Oct 2026, p.1
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Sales and profit have moved unevenly between halves and years, as work comes in project by project.
The evidence. In FY26 the second half brought ₹60.3 cr of revenue against ₹30.5 cr in the first, yet profit before tax fell to ₹7.9 cr from ₹9.8 cr.FY26 results filing, May 2026, p.8
