About Earkart: business, products and customers

Earkart makes hearing aids in Noida and sells them mainly to government welfare buyers, and is building a chain of hearing test corners inside ENT and eye clinics that its audiologists run from a distance. Its shares trade on BSE SME.

Earkart, set up in 2021 and controlled by Rohit Misra since October 2021, assembles digital behind-the-ear and receiver-in-canal hearing aids under the EQFY, Fame, Radius and Tiny names at a Noida facility certified to ISO 13485 and approved by CDSCO and BIS. It also trades other brands' hearing aids and parts, and sells walkers and learning kits for people with disabilities. About half of the materials it used in FY26 were imported.

Most sales come from government tenders on the GeM portal, chiefly supplying ALIMCO, a government company under the social justice ministry; orders come tender by tender, are paid in about 45 to 60 days, and their timing can move sales from one half year to the next. Retailers and distributors pay in about 60 to 90 days, so money owed by customers and stock take up much of the working capital. In the Shop-in-Shop model the company puts its OMNI remote audiometer and a soundproof room inside ENT and optical clinics at its own cost, its audiologists test and fit patients from head office, and the clinic shares in the profit, so costs come first and sales build up over months.

Read more about the business

The documents name no competitors; the offer document warns that rivals may be more effective or technologically advanced, while the company says few Indian hearing aid makers hold its ISO 13485 certificate. It formed a US subsidiary, Earkart Inc., in January 2026, which was not yet operating at March 2026, and its June 2026 presentation cites an exclusive distribution tie-up with Arphi Electronics. In September 2026 the board approved an education services subsidiary, which the company says is outside its existing business.

From the prospectus of 2025, the FY26 annual report filed on BSE, the June 2026 investor presentation, the December 2025 earnings call and BSE announcements of September 2026.

In its favour

  • Sales have grown fast: 23% a year over three years.
  • It has little debt for its size: debt to equity 0.00.

To watch

  • Results for the half to September 2026, due after the trading window that closed on 1 October 2026: whether margins recover as clinic sales catch up with costs (BSE announcement, 28 September 2026; Earnings call, December 2025, p.9).
  • The auditor said paying promoters their gross offer for sale money on 8 October 2025 without deducting their ₹0.56 cr share of issue costs breached Section 185; it was recovered by cheque on 27 May 2026 with interest (Annual report FY26, p.46 to p.48 and p.69).
  • The secretarial auditor found unrecorded insider information entries, cost records not kept, and a missing RBI filing for the US subsidiary; balance confirmations were not received from most parties (Annual report FY26, p.68 and p.95 to p.96).
  • Moves outside hearing care: an education services subsidiary approved on 24 September 2026 and a planned pharmaceutical segment, while ₹14.1 cr of share sale money was unspent at March 2026 (BSE announcement, 24 September 2026; Investor presentation, June 2026, p.20; Annual report FY26, p.48).
  • Customers take longer to pay than before: 142 days in FY26, against 104 in FY22.

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. It has almost no borrowings. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

The company gives no figure for future sales or profit. On the December 2025 call the Managing Director said the company aims to have 500 clinic installations by the end of 2028, expects each clinic to reach ₹80,000 of sales a month at full use after 15 to 18 months against ₹18,000 to ₹20,000 then, and expects government sales to settle at about a fifth to at most three tenths of the total within five years. Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Earkart earns most of its money selling hearing aids it assembles to government welfare buyers, and is trying to grow a private business through clinics it equips and runs from a distance.

Its weak spots are dependence on one kind of buyer in one state, costs that arrive before clinic sales do, and lapses the auditors found around the share sale.

WatchCan it set its own prices? Not for most of its sales, which are won in government tenders where price decides.
The evidence. Government buyers took 61% of FY26 revenue; orders are won by tender bidding and sample approval on the GeM portal.Investor presentation, June 2026, p.17; Offer document, p.147
AverageHow strong is it against rivals? Its certificates and remote testing set it apart among Indian makers, but it is small next to the global brands.
The evidence. The company says few Indian hearing aid makers hold ISO 13485; the offer document warns rivals may be more effective, cost efficient or technologically advanced.Investor presentation, June 2026, p.8; Offer document, p.47
WatchWho are its customers? One customer and one state account for most of its sales.
The evidence. The largest customer took 67% of FY25 revenue and the top ten 91%; Uttar Pradesh was 76% of FY26 revenue.Offer document, p.38; Investor presentation, June 2026, p.17
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Yes. Customers pay slowly, stock is high, and each new clinic needs equipment the company pays for.
The evidence. Working capital was 50% of revenue in FY25; receivables reached ₹21.1 cr and stock ₹10.9 cr at March 2026, and the share sale set ₹17.3 cr for clinic and infrastructure spending.Offer document, p.99 and p.101; Annual report FY26, p.75 and p.76
AverageCan it keep finding new work?Clinics and private sales are growing, but clinic targets have slipped and government orders come one tender at a time.
The evidence. Clinics rose from 49 to 82; the Managing Director had spoken of about 110 by the end of the year and private revenue grew 25% in the first half of FY26.Offer document, p.148; Investor presentation, June 2026, p.4; Earnings call, December 2025, p.7 and p.8
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Yes. A late tender can sink a half year, and fixed costs then squeeze profit.
The evidence. First half FY26 revenue fell about 5% because tenders that usually open before September were deferred, and the CFO said expenses stayed fixed.Earnings call, December 2025, p.7 and p.9
