About Jointeca Education Solutions: business, products and customers

Jointeca Education Solutions sells GuruSeva, software that schools, colleges and universities use to run admissions, records and administration, mostly in northern India. Its shares trade on BSE SME.

The company was set up in Mathura in 2011 and took over the education software business that its managing director, Vishal Mishra, had run since 1997 as a sole proprietorship called Jointeca Technologie. Its one product, GuruSeva, is an education management system offered either as desktop software or as an online service paid for by subscription, and the FY25 annual report says the company has also entered skill development. All revenue comes from educational support work, and customers are educational institutions mainly in northern India; no customer is named.

The business model shapes the numbers. Revenue is very small, while salaries, office costs, listing costs and above all depreciation are fixed, so the company has made a loss every recent year and the losses have piled up against its capital. The company names a lack of funds for business development, competition and breakdown of its IT systems as its threats.

Read more about the business

At listing in 2012 the prospectus described a dealer network across India and abroad, an education portal called shiklo.in, and an agreement with a Dubai computer firm; the recent annual reports describe only GuruSeva and the new skill development line. Neither the prospectus nor the annual reports name rival software makers.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

The company sells one education software product to schools and colleges in northern India, and the sales are far too small to cover its costs.

Its weak spots are years of losses, little money to grow, and plans from its listing that the recent reports no longer mention.

WatchCan it set its own prices? No sign of it. Sales are tiny and the company itself names competition as a threat.
The evidence. The FY25 report lists competition in the market place among its threats, and gross revenue was ₹0.24 cr.Annual report FY25, p.7 and p.21
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? The documents show no edge that keeps rivals out; the product has been sold for years without reaching scale.
The evidence. The company has one product, sold mainly in northern India, with competition and a lack of business development funds listed as threats.Annual report FY25, p.21
WatchWho are its customers?Schools, colleges and universities, mostly in northern India; no customer or customer count is disclosed.
The evidence. The FY25 report says the business is concentrated mainly in the northern region and all revenue is from educational support activities.Annual report FY25, p.21
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Running costs and depreciation are far above sales, and the company says it lacks money to build its business.
The evidence. FY25 showed a loss before depreciation of ₹0.18 cr and a net loss of ₹1.52 cr, with accumulated losses of ₹9.73 cr.Annual report FY25, p.7 and p.21
WatchCan it keep finding new work?It has started a skill development line, but gives no customers, contracts or figures for it.
The evidence. The FY25 report says only that the company has entered the skill development business.Annual report FY25, p.21
AverageDo good and bad years swing a lot?Sales are so small that a few contracts move them a lot, but the losses have been steady year after year.
The evidence. Gross revenue rose from ₹0.13 cr to ₹0.24 cr in FY25 while the net loss widened from ₹1.02 cr to ₹1.52 cr.Annual report FY25, p.7
