About Bio Medica Laboratories: business, products and customers

Bio Medica Laboratories is a company from Indore in Madhya Pradesh that makes medicines such as injections and tablets and sells them mostly within India. Its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

Bio Medica Laboratories was incorporated in 2015, has had Pradeep Mehta and Mukesh Mehta as directors since August that year, and has its registered office in the Sanwer Road industrial area of Indore. Its financial statements describe it as making and selling medicines such as injections and tablets; in FY26 nearly all sales were of its own manufactured products sold in India, with small exports and a little trading. The annual report does not name its products, customers or competitors, and one annexure to the directors' report says the company is not involved in manufacturing, which differs from the financial statements.

As a maker, its margin turns on what it pays for raw and packing materials, all bought in India. In FY26 sales stood still while the cost of materials used fell, so profit rose; but the company bought far more raw material than it used, and its raw material stock more than doubled. That stock, and money owed by customers, were paid for with bank loans secured on its factory and on factory land of a partnership firm of the promoters, and with unsecured loans from the two promoter directors.

Read more about the business

In September 2025 the company bought 51% of Vitamax Healthcare, which had FY26 revenue of ₹6.2 cr and a small loss; the board approved selling that whole stake in July 2026 and shareholders agreed in August 2026. In July 2026 shareholders also added a new business line of essential oils, aromatic oils, herbal extracts, fragrances and perfumery compounds to the company's objects. The shares listed on NSE Emerge in May 2026.

From the FY26 annual report: directors' report, corporate governance report, auditor's report with its CARO annexure, standalone and consolidated financial statements.

Bio Medica Laboratories debt and cash flow

Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capital

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. It borrowed much more last year. Its loans are now larger than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Bio Medica Laboratories makes medicines such as injections and tablets in India and earned a wide margin in the latest year as material costs fell.

Its weak spots are a very large stock of raw material paid for with borrowed money, an annual report that says little about its products and customers, and frequent changes of officers.

WatchCan it set its own prices? The report does not say how its prices are set; profit rose in the latest year because material costs fell while sales stood still.
The evidence. Revenue was ₹38.3 cr in both FY25 and FY26 while the cost of materials used fell to ₹16.2 cr from ₹19.1 cr; no pricing or product detail is given.Annual report FY26, p.100
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? It works in a crowded industry and the report names no brand, product or edge over other makers.
The evidence. The report describes India's drug industry as about 3,000 companies and 10,500 manufacturing units, and names no competitors or products of its own.Annual report FY26, p.81
WatchWho are its customers?Almost all sales are in India, but the report does not say who buys its medicines.
The evidence. FY26 sales were ₹37.1 cr of manufactured products in India, ₹0.39 cr of exports and ₹0.64 cr of trading; no customers are named.Annual report FY26, p.112
WatchDoes it need a lot of money? The business needed far more cash than it made in the latest two years, mostly to carry stock, and borrowed to do it.
The evidence. Standalone stock rose to ₹33.3 cr from ₹18.1 cr and receivables to ₹9.1 cr from ₹4.1 cr; cash from operations was an outflow of ₹5.8 cr after ₹4.6 cr in FY25.Annual report FY26, p.99 and p.101
WatchCan it keep finding new work?Sales did not grow in the latest year, the subsidiary bought for growth is being sold, and the new business line added is unrelated to medicines.
The evidence. Standalone revenue was flat; the Vitamax stake sale was approved in August 2026; essential oils and fragrances were added to the objects in July 2026.Annual report FY26, p.25 and p.100
AverageDo good and bad years swing a lot?Sales held steady across the two years shown, while profit moved with material costs.
The evidence. Standalone revenue was ₹38.3 cr in both FY25 and FY26; profit after tax rose to ₹11.7 cr from ₹9.7 cr.Annual report FY26, p.100
