About Silky Overseas: business, products and customers
Silky Overseas makes soft polyester mink blankets at a plant near Panipat and supplies them mostly to blanket distributors, wholesalers and exporters, with a small share sold online under its Rian Decor brand. Its shares trade on NSE Emerge.
Silky Overseas runs one integrated plant at Village Jawahara in Sonipat district, near the Panipat textile cluster, where polyester yarn is warped, knitted, printed, finished and stitched into mink blankets from single bed to heavy double bed weights. Yarn comes from makers such as Reliance and from Panipat distributors. Almost all sales go business to business: to blanket distributors across India, and to exporters and large buyers who purchase unstitched, semi-finished blanket rolls and put their own labels on them.
Two things in the model shape the reported numbers. A large slice of revenue is trading: knitted fabric bought in the Panipat market and resold without change, which adds turnover at a thin margin, so total revenue can swing without much change in profit. Blankets are a winter product, so stock is built for 60 to 90 days before the season and yarn suppliers are paid in advance to fix prices, while distributors pay only after their own sub-distributors collect; this ties up a lot of cash in stock, supplier advances and receivables.
Read more about the business
Comforters, bedsheets and curtains are mostly bought from Panipat makers and resold under the Rian Decor brand on Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio and the company's own website, using Flipkart's fulfilment warehouses in several states. The company says yarn price changes pass through to its blanket prices.
The documents name no listed competitor. The company calls itself the only listed mink blanket maker and says it competes with established makers in its own area and many unorganised makers in Panipat, where designs are not proprietary.

To watch
- Results for the half to September 2026, which covers the start of the blanket season (Results filing, 13 August 2026, p.5).
- Whether Crisil's issuer not cooperating tag of February 2026 is cleared (Crisil rating rationale, 27 February 2026, p.1).
- The make up of the board: independent directors resigned in March and June 2026, while the annual report put two of them up for appointment at the September 2026 AGM (Exchange announcement, 13 June 2026, p.1; Annual report FY26, p.7).
- Progress on the two acres in Panipat for future capacity, against ₹7.5 cr already paid (Annual report FY26, p.81; Investor presentation, February 2026, p.11).
- It paid no dividend in the past year.

Silky Overseas debt and cash flow
Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capitalThe company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.
Bars below the line are cash going out.

The company's own statements, attributed, set against what it later reported; not newboard's estimates
The company says in its February 2026 presentation that it aims to lift online sales from 3% to 10% to 15% of total sales over the next two to three years, mainly through Flipkart and Myntra, where it says margins are higher than in normal B2B sales. It also lists two acres of land in Panipat for future production capacity, new Flipkart warehouses in Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, and a push into the Middle East after one shipment to the UAE. In the January 2026 call, the whole time director said the plant could make ₹150 to ₹170 cr of revenue at full use, and that no export orders were in hand.

Is it a good business? Six questions
Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.
Silky Overseas earns a spread on turning polyester yarn into winter blankets for distributors and exporters, plus a thin margin on resold fabric.
Its weak spots are a product that sells in one season through a few large buyers, cash tied up in stock and advances, and a run of exits from its board and finance team since listing.
AverageCan it set its own prices? It passes yarn costs on to buyers but has no premium of its own in a crowded cluster; only online and export sales are said to fetch more.
AverageHow strong is it against rivals? It is one of the larger organised blanket makers in a cluster of many small ones, with a known online brand, but its designs can be copied.
WatchWho are its customers?A handful of distributors and exporters take most of the sales, without long term contracts.
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Seasonal stock, advances to yarn suppliers and slow collections from distributors absorb cash, and a land purchase has started.
AverageCan it keep finding new work? There is spare room in the plant and new online and warehouse channels, but orders are short and export orders had not come.
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Sales follow the winter, the weather and export demand, and the last few quarters have moved sharply.
