About C K K Retail Mart: business, products and customers

C K K Retail Mart trades packaged sugar under its own brands, packed for it by other firms, and supplies it to large wholesalers in eastern and western India. It also has small lines of soft drinks, juice, rice and pulses, and its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

C K K Retail Mart, controlled by Sakuma Infrastructure and Realty of Mumbai, began trading in FY21 and since 2023 has focused on packaged sugar, with smaller amounts of rice, pulses, milk powder and its own soft drinks and juice. It owns no factory: sugar comes from suppliers in several states, and the drinks are made under contract by two firms in Thane.

Nearly all sales are sugar, most of it to super stockists who pay upfront at a discount and pass the goods on to distributors and shops. West Bengal and Bihar are the biggest markets, with some exports to the UAE and Tanzania.

Read more about the business

Sales fell about a tenth in FY26 and profit fell more, with very little profit in the second half. After listing in February 2026 the company changed the main IPO project from buying warehouse plots to setting up an overseas company, and money owed by customers more than doubled by March 2026.

From the prospectus (February 2026), the FY26 annual report, the audited FY26 results, the company's exchange filing of 31 August 2026 and the subject lines of its filings of 9 and 12 October 2026.

  • Margins after the weak half to March 2026 (FY26 audited results, p.2).
  • Replacement for the independent director who chaired the audit committee and left on 31 August 2026; the company announced the make-up of its committees on 12 October 2026, subject line only (Exchange filings, 31 Aug 2026, p.1 and 12 Oct 2026).
  • Customers take longer to pay than before: 45 days in FY26, against 0 in FY21.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

C K K Retail Mart makes a small margin trading packaged sugar to a few large wholesalers, without owning a factory or warehouse.

Its weak spots are dependence on a handful of customers and suppliers, a single commodity with prices set by the market and the government, and a sharp fall in profit after listing.

WatchCan it set its own prices? No. Sugar prices follow the market and government policy, and its main customers get a large discount.
The evidence. The prospectus says super stockists purchase at a significant discount, cutting realisation per unit. The annual report names price swings, loose unbranded sugar and government stock limits and support prices as threats.Prospectus, p.159; Annual report FY26, p.24
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? It has brand names on its packs but nothing the documents show that rivals cannot copy, and it makes none of the goods itself.
The evidence. Goods are made and packed by third parties under its brands. The annual report lists unorganised traders with loose goods and large FMCG brands as competitive pressure.Prospectus, p.171; Annual report FY26, p.24
WatchWho are its customers?A few large wholesalers bring most of the sales, and their names are not disclosed.
The evidence. The top five customers gave 77.90% and the top ten 90.62% of sales in the six months to September 2025, mostly through 15 super stockists.Prospectus, p.167 and p.173
WatchDoes it need a lot of money? It needs no plant, but stock and customer dues take cash, and dues rose sharply after listing.
The evidence. Receivables rose to ₹33.4 cr from ₹14.2 cr and short-term advances to ₹5.7 cr from almost nil; cash used in operations was ₹21.7 cr in FY26.FY26 audited results, p.3 and p.4
WatchCan it keep finding new work?Orders come without contracts, its list of stockists changes often, and the newer drinks and staples have barely started.
The evidence. The company has no formal contracts with super stockists or distributors. Carbonated drink sales were ₹0.06 cr in the six months to September 2025.Prospectus, p.160, p.161 and p.167
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Yes. Sales fell in FY26 and second-half profit nearly vanished, and sugar trade moves with crops and government rules.
The evidence. Revenue fell to ₹270.2 cr in FY26 from ₹300.9 cr, profit fell to ₹10.5 cr, and second-half profit was ₹0.86 cr.FY26 audited results, p.2; Annual report FY26, p.16
