About Diksat Transworld: business, products and customers
Diksat Transworld runs Tamil television channels from Chennai, led by Win TV, and earns mainly from advertisers who pay for time on them. Its shares trade on BSE SME.
The company was set up in Chennai in 1999 by its promoter, Dr. T. Devanathan Yadav, who began with newspapers; its flagship Win TV, a free-to-air Tamil news and current affairs channel, started in 2002. The FY26 accounts describe it as operating four channels, Win TV, Aseervatham TV, Win TV UP and Cuisine TV, and producing, acquiring and broadcasting programmes for them, and the FY25 report says it also runs digital music channels. Its programmes come from its own studio and a library of Tamil movies, songs and shows, with some slots filled by outside producers.
The business model shapes the numbers. Studio, playout, satellite uplink and staff are largely fixed costs, so profit swings sharply with advertising income; for slots filled by outside producers, the producer keeps most of the advertising time and pays a fixed fee, which lowers both revenue and cost. Advertisers commit only a short time ahead and pay late, and money owed by customers has grown far larger than a year of sales.

The offer document names its main rivals for Tamil advertising as Sun TV, DD Podhigai, Jaya TV, Raj TV and Star Vijay, all broadcasters chasing the same Tamil viewers.

A tax rate above 60% or below zero (FY15, FY20, FY22, FY23, FY24, FY25, FY26) comes from tax charged on a small or negative profit, as reported.
Earnings per share before FY25 is on the share count of that time, before later bonus or share issues, so it does not compare with the years after.

Diksat Transworld debt and cash flow
Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capitalThe company's own money, its net worth, has shrunk. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

Is it a good business? Six questions
Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.
The company earns money by selling advertising time on its Tamil channels, which carry largely fixed running costs.
Its weak spots are revenue that has shrunk to a sliver of earlier years, losses, and very large amounts owed by customers.
WatchCan it set its own prices? No. Advertising rates follow what rival channels charge, and airtime is limited.
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? It competes with established Tamil broadcasters for the same advertisers and viewers.
WatchWho are its customers?Advertisers and agencies in South India who book time only a short while ahead and can cancel.
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Running channels and a studio costs money every year, and much of its money is stuck with customers who have not paid.
WatchCan it keep finding new work? There is no order book, and revenue has kept falling despite the company's hope for digital channels.
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Yes. With fixed costs and advertising that moves with viewership and the economy, results swing widely.
