About Moving Media Entertainment: business, products and customers

Moving Media Entertainment rents out professional cameras, lenses, lights and sound gear, with the crew to run them, to film, web series, television, advertising and sports producers, mostly in Mumbai. Its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

Moving Media Entertainment owns a stock of high end cameras, lenses, filters, gimbals, monitors, lighting, sound and broadcast equipment and hires it out to producers project by project, as tailored packages. It also supplies camera operators, lighting and sound technicians, on-set data and colour staff (digital imaging technicians), and multi-camera broadcast setups for live events and sports. Named clients include Star India, Amazon, Viacom18, BBC Studios India, Endemol India and Sunshine Pictures.

The business began in 2012 as M/s Moving Media, a proprietorship of the managing director Kuuldeep Beshawar Nath Bhargava; the company was formed in May 2022, took over that business, and listed on NSE Emerge in July 2025. After listing it started a multi-camera and online production line, whose first large job was the show Lock Upp on Netflix, and it also shoots for advertising and brand campaigns.

Read more about the business

Because the company owns the equipment it rents, almost every rupee of growth needs a new purchase first, and most of its cost is depreciation on that equipment rather than wages or materials. That is why operating profit before depreciation is a very large share of sales while the final profit is much smaller, and why cash from operations runs well ahead of reported profit but still falls short of what it spends on new equipment. The annual reports name no competitors; they describe a market of organised and independent rental houses, with producers also free to purchase their own kit.

In its favour

  • Sales have grown very fast: 86% a year over three years.
  • It brings in more cash than it shows as profit: ₹30.3 cr against ₹12.6 cr in FY26.
  • It has little debt for its size: debt to equity 0.27.

To watch

  • The FY27 auditor's report, and whether the FY26 points on equipment records, the BCB Bank account, old balances, GST reconciliation and commission costs are cleared.
  • Money owed by customers against sales in the half year to September 2026, after it rose faster than sales in FY26.
  • Work from the new multi-camera and online production line the FY26 annual report describes.
  • How much the company spends on new equipment now that the IPO money for equipment has been used.
  • Customers take longer to pay than before: 172 days in FY26, against 128 in FY23.

Moving Media Entertainment debt and cash flow

Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capital

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. It cut its borrowings last year. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business brought in more cash than it showed as profit. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Moving Media Entertainment earns money by owning costly camera and production equipment and hiring it out to producers, so sales grow only as fast as it adds equipment and keeps it busy.

Its weak spots are a competitive market with no long contracts, heavy spending on equipment that ages fast, and the gaps the auditor found in its records for the latest year.

WatchCan it set its own prices? Not much. Producers can choose another rental house or purchase their own kit, so rates depend on having the right equipment free when it is needed.
The evidence. The company says the rental industry is competitive, with organised and independent operators and customers who may choose to own equipment, and that competitive pricing matters to its position.Annual report FY26, p.55
AverageHow strong is it against rivals? It has a long client list and a growing stock of high end cameras, but the documents state no market share or other edge that rivals cannot copy.
The evidence. Strengths listed are a specialised equipment portfolio, industry knowledge, customer relationships and continued investment in new equipment; no share of the market is given.Annual report FY26, p.54
AverageWho are its customers? Many well known studios, broadcasters and streaming services, with no single client dominating, but almost all the work is in one state.
The evidence. No client gave more than 10% of FY25 revenue, and the client count rose to 147; Maharashtra gave 88.73% of FY25 revenue.Annual report FY25, p.22 and p.25
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Yes. Growth comes from new equipment, and in each of the last two years it spent more on equipment than its operations brought in.
The evidence. FY26 purchases of fixed assets were ₹51.1 cr against ₹30.3 cr of operating cash; FY25 purchases were ₹53.7 cr against ₹9.6 cr.Annual report FY26, p.83
AverageCan it keep finding new work?So far it has, with more clients and projects each year and a new live production line, but work comes job by job with nothing contracted ahead.
The evidence. Projects rose to 516 in FY25 from 203 in FY23, averaging about 20 days; after listing the company added multi-camera and online production, starting with Lock Upp on Netflix.Annual report FY25, p.25; Annual report FY26, p.31
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot? They can. Demand follows how much film, streaming, television and advertising work is being shot, and idle equipment still carries its full depreciation.
The evidence. The company names industry cyclicality and equipment utilisation as risks: a slowdown in content production may reduce use of its equipment, and lower use may hurt margins.Annual report FY26, p.55
