About Virtual Galaxy Infotech: business, products and customers

Virtual Galaxy Infotech makes software that runs the daily work of banks, mostly cooperative banks, and hosts it for them for a regular fee. It also offers payment, cybersecurity, factory and government software, and its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

Virtual Galaxy Infotech, founded in Nagpur in 1997, owns its software products. The main one is E-Banker, a core banking system used by cooperative banks, district central cooperative banks, state cooperative banks and other lenders, which the bank can run on its own premises or rent as a hosted service. Banking and finance made up about 90% of FY26 revenue.

Around this it sells V-Pay for digital payments and payment soundboxes, a loan origination system, ERP software for factories, government software such as e-Autopsy and e-APMC, and a cybersecurity monitoring product called CyberSentinel. Some projects come as a bundle of software with servers, network and security equipment, which the company calls hybrid integrated SaaS.

Read more about the business

Most customers are in Maharashtra, where many cooperative banks are based, and the company has carried out banking projects in Tanzania, Malawi and Botswana. What is new: a 48 month software contract with Botswana Development Corporation worth USD 1.1 million, signed in April 2026, and a push to offer core banking to larger non-banking finance companies under a new RBI rule.

From the offer document (May 2025), the December 2025 and June 2026 earnings calls, the April and May 2026 press releases, the March 2026 credit rating and the June 2026 quarter results.

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business brought in more cash than it showed as profit. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers pay faster than they did in FY24, which frees up the company's money.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Virtual Galaxy Infotech earns its money renting and maintaining its own banking software for cooperative banks, which tend to stay for many years, and from one-off projects and equipment it supplies with the software.

Its weak spots are reliance on one kind of customer in one state, heavy spending on data centres and projects, and cash that comes in well after sales are booked.

AverageCan it set its own prices?Once a bank runs on its software, changing is hard, which gives some room. But its buyers are small, cost minded banks and government bodies, and the company aims to keep its margin steady rather than raise it.
The evidence. On the June 2026 call the company said it would rather grow sales at the same profit margin, as it has to negotiate to win more business, and pitched itself to cost conscious customers on total cost of ownership.Earnings call, June 2026, p.12 and p.13
AverageHow strong is it against rivals? It is well placed among cooperative banks and has won some banks from larger vendors, but large banks and finance companies mostly use bigger software houses.
The evidence. Sachin Pande said larger players hold the bigger banks and finance companies, and that the company twice replaced an Infosys product at district central cooperative banks.Earnings call, June 2026, p.14 and p.15
WatchWho are its customers?Mostly cooperative banks, many of them in Maharashtra, so sales lean heavily on one kind of customer. They rarely leave.
The evidence. Banking and finance was about 90% of FY26 revenue and Maharashtra a significant share. Clients include the Goa and Mizoram state cooperative banks and ten district central cooperative banks in Maharashtra; churn is under 2%.Earnings call, June 2026, p.5, p.7 and p.11
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Yes. It builds data centres and project assets before it is paid for them, and much of each year's billing comes in the last quarter, so cash arrives later.
The evidence. The Managing Director said about ₹100 cr went into project assets, the data centre and GPUs in FY26. Avinash Shende said most revenue was booked in the last quarter and takes 60 to 90 days to collect.Earnings call, June 2026, p.11 and p.12
StrongCan it keep finding new work?Long contracts, a growing base of bank branches and a large list of bids keep work coming, and existing clients take its newer products too.
The evidence. Order book of ₹111.6 cr at FY26 end, 97 branches added in FY26 and a bid pipeline the company puts at around ₹1,000 cr, with a usual win rate of about 20%. Contracts run five to seven years.Earnings call, June 2026, p.4, p.6 and p.7
AverageDo good and bad years swing a lot?The recurring fees give a steady base, but project and equipment sales are lumpy, so one quarter can differ sharply from the next.
The evidence. Recurring revenue was about 42% of FY26 revenue. Quarterly revenue was ₹54.7 cr in the March 2026 quarter and ₹40.4 cr in the June 2026 quarter.Earnings call, June 2026, p.6; Result filing, June 2026 quarter, Aug 2026, p.5
