About Focus Business Solution: business, products and customers

Focus Business Solution chases overdue loans for banks and finance companies, by phone, by field visits and through legal notices, and is paid a fee for the work. Its shares trade on BSE SME.

The company was set up in Surat in 2006 by Mohamedyaseen Muhammadbhai Nathani and Mohamedamin Mohammad Nathani and has agreements with banks, finance companies and other lenders to act as their authorised recovery and collection agent. Its services run from tele-calling, automated voice calls and e-mail reminders to field visits, tracing and verification of borrowers, and legal recovery work. All of its revenue is professional fees billed to the lenders; borrowers do not pay it anything.

The business model shapes the numbers. This is a people business with almost no machinery or stock: most of the work is done by about thirteen hundred collectors hired on contract, whose cost is booked as job work and takes well over half of every rupee of fees, while the payroll staff and offices take most of the rest. So the margin is thin and moves with how much each collector recovers and what the lenders agree to pay; the company carries no bank debt beyond a car loan, and the money tied up is mainly fees waiting to be paid by the lenders.

Read more about the business

The annual reports name no rivals. They describe intense competition in collection outsourcing, say there are no entry barriers, and list dependence on lenders' volumes and on trained field staff as the main weaknesses.

What is new: shareholders were asked in September 2026 to widen the company's objects to include textiles and hospitality such as hotels, co-living and food outlets, which the board says can be taken up alongside or apart from debt collection.

  • Fees owed by lenders and the balance due from Focus Business Support Service (Annual report FY26, p.73 and p.77).
  • Growth from the expansion into other states paid for by the April 2024 preferential issue (Annual report FY25, p.37 and p.38).
  • Customers take longer to pay than before: 73 days in FY26, against 5 in FY18.

What the company said, and what happened

The company's own statements, attributed, set against what it later reported; not newboard's estimates

The company gives no guidance on sales or profit. It says it aims for coverage across India and to widen its client base, and the board has asked shareholders to allow new businesses in textiles and hospitality. The FY25 annual report said the ₹2.0 cr raised by a preferential issue in April 2024 had been fully used to expand into other states and fund the working capital that needed.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

The company earns a fee for recovering overdue loans for lenders, using a large team of contract collectors, and keeps only a thin slice of each rupee.

Its weak spots are that lenders set the terms, anyone can enter the trade, and the board is now looking at unrelated businesses.

WatchCan it set its own prices? No. Fees are set with the banks and finance companies it works for, and the margin left after paying collectors is thin.
The evidence. The company reports a net margin of 3.61% for FY26 and lists dependence on clients' volumes and collection requirements as a weakness.Annual report FY26, p.54 and p.79
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? Two decades of experience and lender relationships help, but the company itself says the trade has no entry barriers and competition is intense.
The evidence. The FY25 report lists no entry barriers and intense competitive pressure as threats; the FY26 report repeats intense competition.Annual report FY25, p.52; Annual report FY26, p.54
AverageWho are its customers?Banks, finance companies and other lenders, which pay reliably but can change how much work they hand out or bring it in house.
The evidence. The company acts as authorised recovery agent under agreements with lenders and lists changes in clients' outsourcing as a threat.Annual report FY26, p.29 and p.54
StrongDoes it need a lot of money? No. It owns little equipment and has no bank debt beyond a car loan; the main money tied up is fees waiting to be paid.
The evidence. At March 2026 fixed assets were ₹0.75 cr, borrowings ₹0.09 cr and cash ₹3.0 cr, against receivables of ₹4.8 cr.Annual report FY26, p.67
AverageCan it keep finding new work?More lending in India means more overdue accounts to chase, and the company aims to reach more states, but revenue was flat in the latest year.
The evidence. The report links demand to growth in formal credit and outsourcing; revenue was ₹24.1 cr against ₹23.9 cr a year earlier.Annual report FY26, p.29 and p.54
AverageDo good and bad years swing a lot?Fees have risen steadily for several years, but they depend on lenders' credit cycles and on rules for recovery agents.
The evidence. Total revenue rose each year from FY23 to FY26; the report names borrower repayment capacity and recovery regulation as threats.Annual report FY26, p.5 and p.54
