About Bhavik Enterprises: business, products and customers

Bhavik Enterprises imports plastic granules and sells them from its own stock to factories in western India that make pipes, packaging and farm films. Its shares trade on BSE SME.

Bhavik Enterprises trades polyethylene and polypropylene granules in many grades. It is the authorised Indian distributor of Borouge Pte Ltd and also imports LyondellBasell products from Basell International Trading FZE, landing them at Hazira, Nhava Sheva and Mundra and holding them in depots and warehouses in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Daman and Silvassa. Its buyers make pressure and drainage pipes, drip pipes, packaging and farm films, woven sacks, crates, paint pails and houseware; in FY25 pipe makers took 37.01% of sales and polyethylene was 55.4% of sales.

Because it pays international prices for its stock and sells at the prevailing market price, revenue follows tonnes and polymer prices, and profit is the thin gap between the two after freight, storage and staff. The offer document says that when prices rise sharply there can be a lag before the company passes them on, which squeezes margins, and its restated EBITDA margin fell from 3.58% in FY23 to 0.75% in FY25 before profit recovered in FY26. The business needs almost no plant and has no borrowings, but stock and customer credit absorb cash whenever sales or prices rise.

Read more about the business

The business goes back to 1977, when Mukesh Natverlal Thakkar began trading plastic raw material through M/s Emmen Plastics; Purnima Mukesh Thakkar set up the partnership M/s Bhavik Enterprises in 1984, and the company formed in 2008 took over both firms in 2009. It listed on BSE SME on 6 October 2025 after an issue at ₹140 a share, of which ₹63.0 cr was fresh money raised for working capital.

The offer document says no listed company in India runs a similar business. Its competitors are mostly other regional polymer distributors, and the industry report in the offer document profiles Ramniklal S. Gosalia & Co., a Mumbai importer and distributor of chemicals and polymers, among the key players.

In its favour

  • It brings in more cash than it shows as profit: ₹15 cr against ₹13.6 cr in FY26.
  • It has little debt for its size: debt to equity 0.00.
  • The promoters own a large part of the company: 72.98%.

To watch

  • The Borouge distributor agreement dated 1 September 2023, which the offer document says runs for three years and can end if quarterly performance targets are missed (Offer document, p.35).
  • The ₹3.7 cr income tax demand for AY 2020-21 under appeal, its penalty proceedings, and GST notices on input tax credit including one of ₹3.2 cr in Maharashtra (Annual report FY26, p.74; Offer document, p.256).
  • Non-business property: the three bungalows bought for ₹7.5 cr from promoter group company Griffon Securities, and a residential flat booked in FY23 with ₹5.1 cr still to pay on possession, expected in 2028 (Annual report FY26, p.65, p.73 and p.74).
  • Pay of the three promoter directors, with rises proposed at the September 2026 AGM, including up to ₹72 lakh a year for the managing director from 30 January 2027 (Annual report FY26, p.84 and p.99).
  • It paid no dividend in the past year.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Bhavik earns a thin trading margin by importing plastic granules in bulk and selling them from nearby stock to many small and medium factories.

Its weak spots are its reliance on one overseas supplier and a margin that swings with polymer prices.

WatchCan it set its own prices? No. It sells at the going market price for polymers, and when prices jump it can take time to pass the rise on.
The evidence. The offer document says it sells in the domestic market as per prevailing market price, and that a lag in passing on sharp price increases could compress operating margins.Offer document, p.136 and p.37
AverageHow strong is it against rivals?Being Borouge's authorised distributor with stock near the ports gives it a place in the market, but the agreement is not exclusive and other distributors compete on price.
The evidence. The Borouge agreement does not restrict Borouge from dealing with customers directly or appointing third party distributors; most competitors are other regional polymer distributors.Offer document, p.35 and p.158
StrongWho are its customers? Many plastic product makers order from it again and again, and no single buyer is large.
The evidence. Top ten customers were 23.80% of FY25 sales and the largest 5.00%; the company says it has continually received repeat business without long term agreements.Offer document, p.144 and p.153
AverageDoes it need a lot of money? It needs almost no plant, but stock and customer credit tie up cash, which is why the IPO money went to working capital.
The evidence. Operating cash flow was an outflow of ₹33.0 cr in FY25 as inventory and receivables rose, then an inflow of ₹15.4 cr in FY26; the auditor reports net IPO proceeds of ₹54.6 cr used for working capital.Annual report FY26, p.53 and p.60
AverageCan it keep finding new work?Tonnes sold have risen every year in the offer document, but each sale is a fresh deal and supply depends on one company's distributorship.
The evidence. Volumes went from 44,524 t in FY23 to 50,301 t in FY24 and 54,248 t in FY25; Borouge supplied 79.65% of FY25 purchases.Offer document, p.34 and p.136
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Yes. Profit fell for two years in a row and then more than doubled, moving with crude-linked polymer prices, freight and the rupee.
The evidence. Restated profit after tax was ₹15.6 cr in FY23, ₹7.9 cr in FY24 and ₹5.7 cr in FY25, then ₹13.6 cr in FY26; the board says crude oil swings have influenced polymer prices and margins across the industry.Offer document, p.137; Annual report FY26, p.16 and p.17
