About Kaytex Fabrics: business, products and customers

Kaytex Fabrics weaves, dyes and digitally prints fabric in Amritsar and turns some of it into unstitched suits, shawls and stoles sold under its own brands across small towns of North India. Its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

Kaytex Fabrics purchases yarn, greige fabric and dyes and does every step itself at its units in and around Village Balkalan, Majitha, near Amritsar: weaving on rapier and jacquard looms, dyeing and processing, digital printing and embroidery. It reaches customers through three routes: fabric and designs for apparel brands in larger cities, its own brands Rasiya, Kaytex and Darbaar-e-Khaas through distributors in Tier 2 to Tier 4 towns, and bulk fabric and garments for wholesalers and retailers.

Doing every stage in-house is why its margins are well above the textile peers in its offer document, and also why it carries a lot of stock: yarn, fabric in process and finished designs for many seasons. Sales to distributors are partly on credit, so in a year when stock and money owed by customers both rise, profit does not turn into cash. Demand peaks before Dussehra and Diwali, so half-year figures swing.

Read more about the business

The offer document compares it with listed textile makers Veekayem Fashion and Apparels, Banswara Syntex and Donear Industries, which also make and market fabric and garments under their own names but at much lower margins. The digital printing rivals it names, such as Krishna Alkali and Shrijee Lifestyle, are private companies.

What is new: the company listed on NSE Emerge in August 2025, expanded digital printing in FY26, added an aari embroidery line, and has ordered another digital printer for its existing unit. Both independent directors in office at listing resigned during 2026, and a new chief financial officer took over from Amit Kandhari in September 2026.

From the red herring prospectus (July 2025), the FY26 and FY25 annual reports, and the company's exchange filings of 29 May, 31 August and 13 October 2026.

In its favour

  • It earns a high return on the money it uses: ROCE 23% in FY26.
  • It has little debt for its size: debt to equity 0.21.
  • The promoters own a large part of the company: 74.38%.

To watch

  • The further digital printing machine the FY26 annual report says will be commissioned within a few months of May 2026.
  • Whether stock and money owed by customers fall, which the chairman named a clear priority in the FY26 annual report.
  • The Amritsar corporate and sales office, expected by the end of calendar 2026, and the warehouse still to be built from IPO money.
  • Who joins the board after both independent directors in office at listing resigned in May and October 2026.
  • It paid no dividend in the past year.

Kaytex Fabrics debt and cash flow

Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capital

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. It cut its borrowings last year. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Kaytex Fabrics earns money by turning yarn into printed and woven fabric and unstitched suits under one roof, and keeps more of each sale than most textile makers.

Its weak spot is cash: the stock it carries and the credit it gives to distributors have swallowed its profit, and it purchases a large amount from a firm linked to its directors.

AverageCan it set its own prices?Partly. It kept margins steady through a jump in yarn prices, but the chairman says digital printing is getting more competitive and margins have come under pressure.
The evidence. EBITDA margin was 18.60% in FY26 against 19.29% in FY25; raw material had been bought ahead of the yarn and greige price rise.Annual report FY26, p.11 and p.12
AverageHow strong is it against rivals?Doing every step in-house sets it apart locally, but the industry is crowded and digital printing machines are open to anyone.
The evidence. The offer document calls the industry highly fragmented with many small players; listed peers Veekayem Fashion, Banswara Syntex and Donear Industries had FY25 EBITDA margins of 7.26%, 7.85% and 9.05% against Kaytex's 19.68%.Red herring prospectus, p.139 and p.237
AverageWho are its customers? Many distributors, dealers, brands and wholesalers, none dominant, but none bound by long contracts.
The evidence. Top 15 customers gave 43.80% of FY26 sales; 178 distributors and dealers; customers have no long-term contracts or obligation to keep ordering.Annual report FY26, p.10 and p.11; Red herring prospectus, p.52
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Yes. Its own chairman says the in-house model needs more stock than an average company of its size, and in FY26 stock and customer credit took more than all the profit.
The evidence. Inventory rose to ₹63.9 cr and trade receivables to ₹46.9 cr at March 2026; operating cash flow was negative ₹11.5 cr; ₹30.0 cr of IPO money went into working capital.Annual report FY26, p.12, p.19, p.63 and p.65
AverageCan it keep finding new work?It has room to make much more without big spending, but in FY26 output grew slower than capacity and the company missed its own targets.
The evidence. Capacity use fell to 63.50%; the chairman says growth was below the targets set, while Rasiya and exports grew fastest.Annual report FY26, p.8 and p.12
AverageDo good and bad years swing a lot?Profit has risen every year in the documents, but sales lean on festive seasons and on demand in Punjab, which the border hostilities and floods of 2025 hurt.
The evidence. The offer document says business rises before Dussehra and Diwali; FY26 demand in Punjab was disrupted by Operation Sindoor and the floods that followed.Red herring prospectus, p.343; Annual report FY26, p.3
