About On Door Concepts: business, products and customers
On Door Concepts runs neighbourhood grocery stores in Madhya Pradesh under the Ondoor name and delivers groceries and household goods to homes ordered by app, website or phone. Its shares trade on NSE Emerge.
On Door Concepts was set up in Bhopal in 2014 and opened its first store there in January 2015. It offers fruit and vegetables, staples, dairy and bread, packaged food, personal care and household goods from 65 stores of 500 to 3,000 sq. ft. across cities of Madhya Pradesh, as of September 2025, and the stores double as hubs for orders placed by app, website or phone and delivered the same day. It also supplies businesses in bulk and has started its own private label products.
Grocery retail runs on a thin margin: in FY25 about 88% of sales went on the goods themselves, so a small change in prices or costs moves profit a lot. Many stores are franchise owned and company operated, meaning a local owner pays for the shop while On Door runs it, which keeps the company's spending on stores low, but every store still has to carry stock. The company booked no current tax in FY24 and FY25 and took a small deferred tax credit, so its reported profit was close to its profit before tax.
Read more about the business
Store count has moved little since listing, from 63 in March 2024 to 65 in September 2025, so most sales growth has come from existing stores, online orders and bulk sales. The company listed in November 2023 after a share sale at ₹208 a share, and in June 2026 it raised fresh equity from new investors through a preferential allotment, with its disclosures also counting 20,00,000 convertible warrants.
The company names its competition as local kirana stores and national retail chains, and lists price wars with competitors among its threats; the documents read do not name a listed company as a peer.
From the FY24 and FY25 annual reports, the investor presentations of December 2024 and March 2026, and the company's exchange disclosures of 23 and 24 June 2026. The FY26 annual report was available only as an AI summary and was not used.
Read the deeper study ↓In its favour
- Sales have grown fast: 21% a year over three years.
- It has little debt for its size: debt to equity 0.09.
To watch
- Use of the money from the June 2026 preferential allotment and conversion of the 20,00,000 warrants (exchange disclosures, 23 and 24 June 2026).
- New franchise stores in smaller cities of Madhya Pradesh, after the count moved from 63 to 65 (annual report FY25, p.50; investor presentation, March 2026, p.5).
- The ₹1.5 cr VAT appeal for FY2016-17, the TDS demand and the tax notice for delayed TDS deposit in FY2021-22 (annual report FY25, p.95).
- Whether profit keeps pace once the company pays current tax, which it did not in FY24 and FY25 (annual report FY25, p.33).
- Customers take longer to pay than before: 21 days in FY26, against 7 in FY19.

On Door Concepts debt and cash flow
Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capitalThe company's own money, its net worth, has grown. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business brought in less cash than it showed as profit, so part of the profit is still to be collected. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and drew on its cash. Customers take about as long to pay as they did in FY24.
Bars below the line are cash going out.

Is it a good business? Six questions
Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.
On Door earns a small margin on everyday groceries sold through its neighbourhood stores, home delivery and bulk sales.
Its weak spots are the thin margin, the stock it must carry and the slow pace of new stores.
WatchCan it set its own prices? No. It competes with kirana stores and large chains on everyday prices.
AverageHow strong is it against rivals?A dense local network with same-day delivery gives it a place in its cities, but it is a small regional chain.
StrongWho are its customers? Many households shopping for daily needs, so no single buyer matters much, plus some business buyers.
AverageDoes it need a lot of money?Franchise owners pay for many stores, but stock keeps growing with sales and the company raised fresh equity in 2026.
AverageCan it keep finding new work?Sales keep rising from existing stores, online orders and bulk buyers, but new stores have been slow to come.
StrongDo good and bad years swing a lot?Not much. People need groceries every day, and sales have risen every year since FY23.
