About Prime Cable Industries: business, products and customers
Prime Cable Industries makes power and control cables and overhead bunched cables at plants in Delhi and Rajasthan, mostly for electricity boards and the contractors who build power networks for them. It is now adding medium voltage cables, and its shares trade on NSE Emerge.
Prime Cable Industries grew out of a cable business Purshotam Singla started in Delhi in 1997. It makes low voltage power and control cables, aerial bunched cables, instrumentation cables, house wires and conductors under the PRIMECAB and RENUFO brands, at a small unit in Narela, Delhi and a larger plant at Ghiloth in Rajasthan that started in late 2024, with its own NABL accredited test lab.
Customers are state electricity boards, power companies, public sector firms and the EPC contractors working for them, along with private industry. Most work is won through tenders, which need state vendor approvals, type test reports and a supply record, and copper and aluminium price changes are passed on to customers, so the company earns a conversion margin on the metal.
Read more about the business
What is new: in FY26 it won BIS licences for medium voltage power cables up to 33 kV, solar cables and aluminium alloy conductors, and it is building a third plant at Ghiloth for medium voltage cables. In October 2026 it announced a Gold level certificate under the MSME Sustainable (ZED) scheme, up from the Bronze level it received in April 2026.
There is no offer document in the documents read. From the FY26 annual report, the February 2026 investor presentation, the November 2025 and May 2026 earnings calls, the April 2026 business update and the company's exchange announcements of May to October 2026.

Prime Cable Industries debt and cash flow
Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capitalThe company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.
Bars below the line are cash going out.

What the company said, and what happened
The company's own statements, attributed, set against what it later reported; not newboard's estimates
The company states an order book of about ₹191 cr at mid May 2026, to be delivered over four to six months, and says it keeps orders to that span because metal price rises squeeze margins on long orders. In the May 2026 call it guided for revenue growth of 40% to 45% in FY27 with EBITDA margins of 10% to 11%, and said the new medium voltage plant should start by the end of Q2 FY27, taking revenue capacity to over ₹600 cr at current metal prices by Q1 FY28.

| Capex of about ₹25 cr for the new plant | Earlier plan, recalled in the May 2026 call | Raised to about ₹40 cr in May 2026 for more capacity |
| Revenue growth of 40% to 45% in FY27 | May 2026 call | FY27 results not yet reported |
Is it a good business? Six questions
Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.
Prime Cable Industries earns a steady margin turning copper and aluminium into cables for power utilities, and its approvals with many electricity boards let it bid for work that newcomers cannot.
Its weak spots are that utilities and their contractors pay slowly, a few large customers give much of the sales, and the business needs a lot of borrowed money to grow.
AverageCan it set its own prices?Metal costs are passed on to customers, but prices are set in tenders against other makers, so the margin on each order stays thin.
AverageHow strong is it against rivals?Vendor approvals, type tests and its own accredited lab keep many small makers out, but the industry is crowded and the company is small next to the big names.
WatchWho are its customers?Mostly power utilities, public sector firms and their contractors, and a handful of them give a large share of sales, though private work is growing.
WatchDoes it need a lot of money?Yes. Utilities pay slowly and stock has to be held, so growth uses cash, and the new plant adds to the need.
StrongCan it keep finding new work?Orders have kept coming from utilities, their contractors and private firms, and new licences open medium voltage and solar cables.
AverageDo good and bad years swing a lot?Sales lean heavily to the second half of each year, when utilities and contractors rush to finish projects, and metal prices move the sales figure.
