About Transteel Seating Technologies: business, products and customers

Transteel Seating Technologies makes office chairs, workstations and other office furniture in Bengaluru and fits out whole offices for companies across India. In its latest year a large part of reported revenue came from a land deal, not furniture.

The company designs and makes ergonomic chairs, modular workstations, desks and storage at a leased factory in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, and delivers and installs them through its own technicians. On top of plain furniture supply it runs a Design and Build vertical that plans and fits out whole offices, from layout to interiors. Its named products include the Follow chair and the Alchemy Duo workstation.

Customers are companies setting up or refitting offices: technology firms and global capability centres, banks, hotels, hospitals and schools, usually reached through project managers and general contractors. Orders are won one project at a time with no long term agreements; the orders it discloses to the exchange are mostly worth a few tens of lakhs and are delivered within weeks. The company has said the second half of the year usually brings more revenue than the first.

Read more about the business

The headline revenue for FY26 mixes two very different things. Furniture brought in less than the year before, while a separate real estate segment booked revenue on land sale agreements, with a matching land purchase, before any money changed hands or deeds were registered; that lifted revenue, profit and unpaid bills without bringing in cash. The auditor said it could not judge whether this revenue should have been recognised.

The offer document compared the company with Seasons Furnishing and Shashwat Furnishing Solutions, while saying those listed companies are not strictly comparable in nature and size. It names a large unorganised sector, which competes on price and personal ties, as its main rival.

From the offer document (November 2023), the November 2023 presentation, the FY25 and FY26 annual reports, the FY26 results filing and order announcements of September and October 2026.

Exceptional and other items: profit before tax beyond operating profit, other income, interest and depreciation, such as one-off items or a share of associates' profit, as reported.

A tax rate above 60% or below zero (FY21) comes from tax charged on a small or negative profit, as reported.

Earnings per share before FY24 is on the share count of that time, before later bonus or share issues, so it does not compare with the years after.

Transteel Seating Technologies debt and cash flow

Balance sheet · Cash flow · Working capital

The company's own money, its net worth, has grown fast. Its loans are smaller than its own money. Last year the business used more cash than it brought in. It spent more on assets and investments than the business brought in, and raised the rest from loans or shares. Customers take longer to pay than they did in FY24, which ties up more of the company's money in unpaid bills.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Transteel Seating Technologies makes and fits office furniture for companies, earning a margin on each project it wins.

Its weak spots are a land deal that made up a large part of reported revenue without bringing in cash, a sharp rise in unpaid bills, and furniture sales that fell in the latest year.

WatchCan it set its own prices?Only partly. The company says raising its prices to cover rising input costs is a challenge, and its largest rival is an unorganised sector that competes on price.
The evidence. The FY26 management discussion lists the ability to raise selling prices to offset rising input costs as a risk, alongside a price-sensitive unorganised sector.Annual report FY26, p.72 to 73
AverageHow strong is it against rivals? It is an organised brand with its own factory, installation team and named products, but the offer document admits rivals can copy products quickly.
The evidence. The offer document's own SWOT lists 'competitors can offer similar products quickly' and a limited market share among weaknesses; the FY26 report names the Follow chair and Alchemy Duo as hero products.Offer document, p.113 to 114; Annual report FY26, p.72
AverageWho are its customers? Many large companies across sectors, each placing modest orders, but none is bound by a long term agreement.
The evidence. Named customers include Tata Electronics, Nykaa, Bosch, ITC and Chevron; recent disclosed orders came from Kia India, Bajaj Finance and Visionet Systems. Clients can end relationships on short notice.Annual report FY26, p.8; Order announcements, 29 September and 6 October 2026, p.1; Offer document, p.35
WatchDoes it need a lot of money? The factory needs little new spending, but money tied up in unpaid bills jumped in FY26 and operations used cash.
The evidence. Debtor turnover fell to 1.19 times from 5.06 times; operating cash flow was negative ₹8.4 cr; plant spending was ₹0.05 cr in FY26 after ₹14.8 cr in FY25.Annual report FY26, p.74; Results filing, May 2026, p.7
AverageCan it keep finding new work?A steady stream of small office orders keeps coming, but the company gives no order book, and the new cities and product lines it planned in 2023 have not been reported on since.
The evidence. The November 2023 presentation planned entry to Kolkata, Jaipur and Lucknow and into lockers, soft seating and carpets; recent orders run from ₹0.14 cr to ₹0.67 cr each.Presentation, November 2023, p.5 to 6; Order announcement, 29 September 2026, p.1
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Yes. Margins moved a great deal before listing, and the latest year's headline growth came from a one-off land deal while furniture income fell.
The evidence. EBITDA margin was 6.02% in FY21 and 25.95% in FY23; FY26 furniture segment income was ₹79.6 cr against ₹88.9 cr in FY25, with ₹60.0 cr more from land.Offer document, p.112; Results filing, May 2026, p.8
