About Shri Techtex: business, products and customers

Shri Techtex makes non-woven polypropylene fabric in Gujarat for road and drain linings, roof underlay, farm covers, furniture and medical goods, and supplies it to businesses in India and abroad. Its shares trade on NSE Emerge.

Shri Techtex runs one spunbond line at Simej in Dholka taluka, Ahmedabad, that turns polypropylene granules into fabric rolls up to 4.5 metres wide. The fabric goes into geotextiles for roads and drainage, roofing underlay, crop and weed covers, furniture and bedding layers and medical disposables. The business began as a partnership in 2011, did job work for group companies, and started its own fabric line in October 2021.

Three kinds of sales sit inside its revenue. Fabric from its own line carries the cost of polypropylene, job work for other firms is billed as a processing fee, and goods it purchases from others for resale add to sales without using its own line. In FY26 purchases of goods for resale rose sharply while job work brought in ₹14.4 cr, so sales that look steady hide a large change in what the company sold.

Read more about the business

Until FY25 most sales went abroad, mainly to the United States in the years shown in the offer document. In FY26 exports fell to under a quarter of sales and domestic buyers took the rest; the annual report gives no reason for the fall and still calls the business export oriented. Companies linked to the promoters, such as Global Polyweave, Shakti Polyweave, Shri Jagdamba Polymers and Aurum Fabrictech LLP, purchase from it, supply it and trade job work with it.

The offer document names Garware Technical Fibres, a far larger technical textiles maker, and Shubham Polyspin, which had sales close to Shri Techtex's own at the time, as its listed peers in polypropylene based technical textiles. It says price decides most orders and that the industry has few barriers to entry.

From the offer document (Prospectus, August 2023) and the annual reports for 2024-25 and 2025-26.

In its favour

  • It earns a high return on the money it uses: ROCE 23% in FY26.
  • It has little debt for its size: debt to equity 0.02.
  • The promoters own a large part of the company: 70.34%.

To watch

  • Whether the raw material stock built up by March 2026 turns into sales and cash in the half year to September 2026 (annual report 2025-26, p.44).
  • Business advances to related parties, outstanding at March 2026 and repayable on demand or without set terms (annual report 2025-26, p.79), and trade with Global Polyweave under the ₹100 cr yearly limit shareholders approved from FY26 (annual report 2024-25, p.15).
  • The solar plant paid for from IPO money: an advance went to the vendor but installation had not begun by March 2026 (annual report 2025-26, p.33).
  • Changes in key people: the statutory auditor resigned on 3 September 2025 with no concerns stated by the outgoing firm, the Chief Financial Officer on 9 July 2025 and the company secretary on 23 March 2026 (annual report 2025-26, p.26 and p.82; exchange filing, 24 March 2026).
  • Customers take longer to pay than before: 85 days in FY26, against 46 in FY20.

Is it a good business? Six questions

Each answer is about that one question, read from the documents; tap one for the evidence. Not a view on the shares.

Shri Techtex makes non-woven polypropylene fabric on one line, does processing work for other firms and trades in goods purchased from others.

Its weak spots are a few large buyers, export sales that swing hard from year to year, and money that has gone to companies linked to its promoters.

WatchCan it set its own prices?Hardly. The company itself says price decides most orders and that rivals face few barriers to entry.
The evidence. The offer document says price is the main factor in most cases and that there are minimal entry barriers; it lists rising raw material cost as a weakness.Offer document, p.125 and p.127
WatchHow strong is it against rivals? It runs a single production line against small, national and international makers and has no research department.
The evidence. One spunbond double beam line 3.2 metres wide; the FY26 annual report says the company does not have a dedicated research and development department.Offer document, p.126; annual report 2025-26, p.62
WatchWho are its customers?A handful of buyers take nearly all its sales, with no long term contracts, and group companies have been large buyers. Its export buyers fell away sharply in FY26.
The evidence. Top five customers were 94.08% of FY23 sales and group companies 36.26%; exports were ₹18.5 cr in FY26 against ₹61.1 cr in FY25.Offer document, p.31; annual report 2025-26, p.45
AverageDoes it need a lot of money? The plant is built and debt is nearly gone, but stock and advances took up a lot of cash in FY26.
The evidence. Borrowings were ₹2.9 cr at March 2026; inventory rose to ₹28.4 cr from ₹3.7 cr and cash from operations was negative ₹2.6 cr.Annual report 2025-26, p.44 and p.87
AverageCan it keep finding new work?It replaced lost export sales with domestic sales and goods purchased for resale in FY26, so sales held steady, but it states no order book.
The evidence. Domestic sales rose to ₹51.0 cr from ₹6.2 cr while exports fell; revenue was ₹84.1 cr against ₹82.7 cr in FY25.Annual report 2025-26, p.43 and p.98
WatchDo good and bad years swing a lot?Yes. The share of sales going abroad has swung widely, and the mix of own fabric, job work and goods for resale changes what each year's numbers mean.
The evidence. Exports were 89.96% of FY22 sales and 36.28% of FY23; they were ₹61.1 cr of ₹82.7 cr in FY25 and ₹18.5 cr of ₹84.1 cr in FY26.Offer document, p.119; annual report 2025-26, p.45
