Priced above the peers the company named
How often was an IPO priced at a P/E above the peers its own offer document named?
15 of 31 (48%)
Of 31 studied IPOs with a price band, 15 (48%) were priced at a P/E above the median of the listed peers the company itself named.
Mainboard: 9 of 13 (69%); SME: 6 of 18 (33%)
How this is counted
The P/E at the upper end of the band (market capitalisation after the issue over the latest year's profit), against the median P/E of the peers in the offer document's basis-for-price section, as printed there. Arithmetic on the document's own figures, not a view on the price; peers chosen by the company may not run the same business.
The sample is every IPO newboard has studied whose study states the figures this needs: 31 of the 313 studied so far. Each figure is from that issue's own offer document, with its page in the study. Counted on 4 Oct 2026; the count moves as studies are added. It describes these issues and says nothing about any other.
